Chapter 1 - and today's events (it's a big one boys and girls)
So, quite the day I must say. It was an action packed adventure for this....well, me. You'll have to hear of my day before I give you long awaited stories from camp. So sit back, relax, and read the tale of Nathan and his day.
Today
I woke up. I find this the best way to begin one's day. So after waking, I proceeded to do my daily ritual of showering, and getting ready for the day. I was SUPPOSED to go to my orientation at 8:00 but I had to go to the dentist at 8:00, dang poor planning. I had a real good visit to the dentist though, no cavities! I found out when I got to the orientation that I didn't miss much, so it's all good. So we went around KR a little, and the new building isn't very cool so far, but if they decorate it a little it might look a bit better. Then, it was the event everyone was waiting for....SCHEDULE TIME! I was super excited and I compared my schedule with many others and found I have several classes with people. I find this rather exciting, but it was much harder for me to find the people I have classes with now that I'm at KR.
My schedule:
Period------------Class ------------------Teacher
--0 -------------Jazz Choir ------------------Giles
--1 --------------Spanish1 -------------------Rawie
--2 --English (what's Hon F/C/L?) ----Pettibone
--3 ---------------Choir-----------------------Giles
--4 ---------------Trig 1----------------------Brown
--5 ---Contemporary World Issues----- Patrick
--6-------------Chemistry1-----------------Howard
If you have any classes with me or if you have something to say about my teachers, leave a comment!
There ya go! That's my schedule and though I've heard some good things about the teachers, I think I have the worst layout for classes. If you've been to KR you'll get it after I explain. So my day starts out before school at Jazz Choir (obviously in the choir room), and my first period class is in the portables behind the special chargers building. Then second period is in the new building which is near the gym/choir room entrance. Third period is back in the choir room. Fourth I have to go to A18 which is by the super big like conference classroom which is down the hall from the cafeteria (not the hall towards the choir room). Then I have to go back to the new building for fifth period. And I end up at A19 (by A18...logical right??) for sixth period. In other words for those of you who are completely lost (all of you), I'm gonna be running from one end of the building to the other every passing period! NOT FUN! Oh, and my locker is my area code...too cool(425)! That's by the choir room, so I think the choir room is kinda like my base area in KR.
I don't mean to complain, but look at this map: http://www.kent.k12.wa.us/KSD/FP/sitesinfo/ap_kr3.jpg I'll be walking across that HUGE (<--- HAHA) school a whole 5 times a day. No, really it could be a lot worse, I could have to walk across the entire UW campus, but it still won't be fun. Ok, so enough of me rambling on about how unexcited I am to do some walking at school, on to the rest of my day. After orientation I went home, and decided to...apply for jobs!!! YAY! This activity consited of walking to Fairwood G&CC and basically being told I'm too young to work there, and then going to Starbucks and being told that they were out of application forms. To fix this problem, I went home and got a form off of the internet. I spent most of the rest of the day filling out this wonderous application form! That's pretty much my day. Dentist, Orientaion, Apply for Jobs. On to the stories....
South Shore
Well, here's the long awaited (cough cough) first story from camp. I drove to the wonder that is Montana with the Hendersons (family of the awesome dude who helped me get to camp). When we got there the Adult Hendersons had to jet back home to go to Amsterdam, and Michael and I were left with John who was going to South Shore (the camp for older MCT campers). Since we had no way to get to North Shore (the camp for younger MCT campers), we went to South Shore for part of the day to wait to be able to go to North Shore.
While at South Shore I met some pretty neato people, but the 2 that stood out the most were Kat and Sara. While Michael and I were at South Shore we hung out with Kat, Sara, and Kelly (I already knew Kelly). Kat is a really awesome person, she's the type of person who you fall in love with in a second just because she's so out there, and sweet, and just has a bright personality. Personally I think the world is lacking in people like Kat, and it's refreshing to see that there really are people out there that are genuinely nice to you when you first meet them. So that's Kat.
Sara....oh sara. Sara is so cool that she rocks my world. You see Sara is one of those people who doesn't care what you think....at all and she's so...candid (right word?) that she could be quite frightening to someone who doesn't know her. Now don't take this as a rude thing to say, but Sara has some issues. She told me right off the bat she does drugs, smokes, drinks, is bi, and boinks a lot, and whoever doesn't like her for that can go...well you get the picture. She's one of the funnier people I have ever met though, and she's really a nice person who really cares for people who do the same for her. Needless to say, meeting Sara was one of the biggest eye opening experiences I had at camp. I learned from her that no matter what a person does or how messed up they are, they can still be great people, and some of the best friends one can have. I pray for Sara a lot because I hope she can find satisfaction in life without drugs or alcohol, but that's all I can do besides encouraging her not to do things like that. So those are the people who I hung with down at South Shore for that day. At around 8 or something Michael, a bunch of others going to North Shore, and I headed up to North Shore where we spent the night. Quite the first day.
North Shore People Arrive
After staying the night at North Shore I was totally ready for everyone to show up. So they did. When they showed up, I kinda didn't know what to do. Michael was all at home, and I kinda.....wasn't....so I tried to fix that bye meeting people, and it WORKED! The first day my overall impression of the people at North Shore was pretty much, everyone's nice, and all the girls are WAY HOT! So I was introduced to North Shore food as well. The food there really isn't that bad, but it's not great so it's just right for camp food. I've heard it's been much worse before so I'm happy with what I've gotten.
At night we had singing auditions, this is where you sing in front of 119 other people. It's really not all that bad. All you have to do is think about everyone else that has to do the exact same thing, and not mess up. I think I did pretty well because they called me up and had me mess around with the line we sang and they wanted me to try doing different things with it. It was fun. Then we went to bed. Night time stories are a whole other thing, so that will come later...don't worry guys, I won't post anything that passes the boundries. So that was day 1 and I was way pooped.
As you can tell I've been doing quite a lot of updating on my blog, and fixing up how it looks. If you don't like it, that's you're problem, it's just here for people who want to know about my life and who care about what's going on with me. I'm off though. So until next time, try writing songs, it's a great way to let things out.

Hey, waking up IS a pretty good way to start off the day. I have to say that I'm impressed with your blog, it looks like you're getting the hang of some stuff. But I'll definitely be over one of these days to impart some of my knowledge. Take care, dude...and keep on bloggin'.
